About Love Oracle
Love Oracle is an AI tarot reader for love and relationship questions. You ask something real, a full 78-card deck is dealt, and one of five readers interprets the exact cards that came up. It is a small independent product, it is entertainment rather than fortune-telling, and it runs in 22 languages.
Why it exists
Most online tarot answers the question you did not ask. You type something specific — he replied in four words and then nothing for two days — and get a paragraph about the universe having a plan. We wanted the opposite: a reader who names the pattern, says the uncomfortable half out loud, and stops.
Tarot at its best is a mirror with good vocabulary. It does not know your future. It is very good at giving language to something you already half-know and have been avoiding naming. That is the whole product, and everything below is built to keep it honest.
How a reading is actually produced
There is no template and no pre-written answer bank. Every reading runs the same four steps:
- 01The draw is realCards come from the complete 78-card deck — 22 Major Arcana and four suits of 14 — using the runtime random number generator. Roughly 30% land reversed, which is close to what a physical shuffle produces.
- 02The spread gives the cards grammarA one-card pull answers a yes-or-no. Three cards read past, present and future. Five cards read your heart, their heart, the connection, the obstacle and the direction. The same card means different things in different seats.
- 03A language model interprets those exact cardsThe model is told which cards came up, upright or reversed, in which positions, against your question. It cannot substitute a nicer card, and it is not choosing the cards — that already happened.
- 04The reader adds the voiceThe persona layer changes how the truth is delivered, never what the cards said. Zora and Madame Noir will reach the same verdict about the same spread and say it very differently.
The long version, including what this approach genuinely cannot do, is in How AI Tarot Works.
The five readers
They are voices, not people, and we do not pretend otherwise. Each one is a different way of being told the same thing.
What the readers will not answer
This is enforced in the prompt, not left to the model’s judgement. No reader will give you a medical or pregnancy reading, a financial or investment reading, a legal outcome, or anything about death. Ask and you will be told plainly why not.
If a question touches self-harm, the reading stops and becomes a signpost to real support. A tarot app is not the right thing in that room, and pretending otherwise would be the only genuinely unsafe feature we could build.
Love Oracle is entertainment. We do not predict real outcomes, and every reading ends the same way it starts: the cards show energy, the choices stay yours. 18+.
Where the cards and their meanings come from
The deck art is the 1909 edition illustrated by Pamela Colman Smith, which is in the public domain. The scans are treated for the dark interface but not redrawn — the card you see is the card that has been printed for over a century.
The love meanings on the 78 card pages were written for this site rather than compiled from other tarot sites, and they are written specifically for relationships: what the card says upright, reversed, as somebody’s feelings, and about an ex. The Major Arcana names follow the 1909 tradition; the 56 minor cards are generated from rank × suit tables so that the Two of Cups and the Two of Wands cannot drift apart inside a language.
Honest caveat, because it matters for anyone reading in their own language: English is the source. The other 21 languages were machine-translated and have not yet been reviewed by native speakers. Key parity, placeholders and untranslated English are checked automatically on every change; idiom and tone are not. If something reads wrong in your language, tell us and we will fix that string.
Money, plainly
Your first reading is free and needs no account. Creating a free account adds one more. After that a question costs one credit — and a question is a question, whether it is one card, five cards or a follow-up. The daily card is free forever, and a seven-day streak adds three credits. Plus removes the counting.
There is no reading that gets cut off halfway to sell you the ending, and no countdown timer inventing urgency that does not exist. See pricing for the numbers.
Your readings are yours
Readings are generated per session and are never published, never indexed, and never served to the crawlers and agents that can otherwise read this site in machine-readable form. The card meanings and question pages are published to be quoted; what you asked is not. The details are in the privacy policy.
